Wave Restrictors Removed

Please Note: Recently, at the request of a few patrons, the Recreation Center tried putting in two wave restrictor lanes in the indoor pool on a trial basis.  Conflicts and problems arose soon after they were put in.   All lap swim time patrons were then given the opportunity to voice their concerns and opinions about the wave restrictors.  The overwhelming majority of our patrons did not like them in the pool, and have requested that they be removed!  Many other patron and management concerns relating to the wave restrictors were also taken into consideration.  The decision was made to remove all the wave restrictors permanently.  The decision and information relating to the wave restrictors has been reviewed by: The Mayor, the Acting City Manager, PLR Director, the PLR Board, the Rec. Superintendent and the Rec. Supervisor.
Our job is to do what is best for the majority of our patrons, and our patrons have clearly spoken.  You have always shared the pool in the past and have always been respectful of each other.   We thank you for your cooperation.
