Position provides emergency and non-emergency dispatch services by monitoring and answering multiple phone lines; processes, prioritizes, and utilizes the radio system to ensure proper deployment of police, fire, and emergency units. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to handle multiple demands simultaneously, deal with interruptions, respond to difficult situations under time constraints, and maintains composure during emergencies. Must possess keyboarding skills equivalent typing 35 w.p.m.; be able to work various rotating shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
